Developed by Lauren Faust, this is the culmination of the short from years ago "Super Best Friends Forever!"
Fear that her My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic archetypes follow to this show? Well...
They kind of do. 4/6 do.
Kara Danvers - Supergirl - is Rainbow Dash but, if you can believe it, cooler. She has muscles and a cool haircut, loses her temper and likes using her powers, even if she tends to go overboard in her quest to help.
She's probably my favorite.
Zee Zatanna - er, Zatanna - is Rarity - Girly, show-off, fashionable, and sophisticated magic user.
Karen Beecher - Bumblebee - is mostly Fluttershy - a very shy tech genius who would prefer to stay out of the limelight and not do scary things, but she will when the going gets tough.
These three are my favorite girls of the bunch. The others aren't so bad;
Jessica Cruz - Green Lantern - is a Granola Girl, past the angst of her past that I can't talk about because I barely know about it. I did see that Green Lantern CGI cartoon 7 years ago, it was so good.
Barbara Gordon - Batgirl - is Pinkie Pie. That's about it. Oh, but her best friend from Gotham is Harley Quinn. That's an interesting twist. Can't wait to see that friendship grow strained as Harley spends more and more time with Todd Joker or whatever.
Diana Prince - Wonder Woman - Is the only one I'm not fond of because I am very tired of the visual depictions of Wonder Woman knowing absolutely nothing about the world of man. It's a little tiresome at this point. This is possibly the one thing the previous iteration did better.
This 1-hour show preview is basically how the girls all meet - There are superpowered beings that walk among Metropolis. They take some time to get along with each other but in the end it works out. Simple.

Don't be shy, but don't be a dick either.
