Most of the time, I'll compare if the character has a counterpart, though there are some instances where they simply don't and we have to improvise.
Daughter of the Dark Fairy;
Mal vs. Faybelle Thorn
I was prepared to immediately give Faybelle the win by virtue of being my favorite Ever After High (EAH) character.
But Mal can turn into a dragon, and there's nothing in the EAHverse that suggests Faybelle can do the same. Mal is wholeheartedly trying to be a "good" person, while Faybelle is learning that her role as The Dark Fairy doesn't have to be her entire identity, and she can be a bit nicer without totally losing her acerbic personality.
WINNER:
It's a tie. Who saw that coming?
Daughter of The Sleeping Beauty
Audrey vs. Briar Beauty
Yes, Audrey's Wicked World model is pale as shit for some reason.
We never saw Audrey be anything but a type A-Overachiever who was King Ben's girlfriend, who dumped him for Mal down the line. She had honestly left zero impression on me.
Briar had some character growth in Thronecoming before being ignored until the last sad-sack EAH film in Epic Winter as she too was shunted aside by her white life partner in Apple White for another "evil" white girl.
WINNER:
Briar Beauty
Daughter of The Evil Queen;
Raven Queen vs. Evie
They both embody the most trite stereotypes of girls' media - One is a fashion designer and one is a ~rebellious rocker girl.
At least Evie builds upon her craft and uses her power, however small, in Auradon to help out those kids still stuck on the Isle of The Lost, like Dizzy, daughter of Drizella.
The conflict in EAH ends and Raven is left around to do .... whatever.
WINNER:
Evie
Child of Alice of Wonderland;
Allie vs. Alistair Wonderland
Alistair likes riddles. Allie is bright and curious about everything.
WINNER:
Allie
Daughter of Ursula vs. Daughter of The Little Mermaid;
Uma vs. Meeshell Mermaid
This is different because while Coral Witch is mentioned very briefly in the EAH books, it's a few lines and there's no insight into her character, and there is no mentioned Child of Ariel in the Descendantsverse.
But Meeshell is so boring that you'd hope for Uma to come along and curse her.
WINNER:
Uma
Child of Cinderella;
Chad vs. Ashlynn Ella
Chad is stuck up, spoiled, and again, left no impact. I'm not even sure he was in the second movie. Ashlynn is a hardworking girl who appreciates the privilege of her destiny, but doesn't like it, as she can't be with the boy she loves and still have it. Also, her mother will die.
You know, it's a real shame that EAH had such a weak conclusion that none of this was satisfying.
WINNER:
Ashlynn Ella
Athletic Minorities Not From The Same Story;
Cerise Hood vs. Lonnie
Lonnie's another one where they kind of messed up the CGI model.
Lonnie is the daughter of Mulan - and her book points out that she has a brother, Shang Jr., though I'm not quite sure if he's ever seen on page. She joins the fencing club in the second movie, giving us the token "You can't do that, you're a girl!" plot, despite being the daughter of a warrior.
You know about Cerise. Likes running and hiding. Story is never resolved.
WINNER:
Two losses.
Jane vs Farrah Goodfairy because they the daughter of Fairy Godmother
