Book 3: Sozin's Comet: Avatar Aang

Because it's ten years to the day where this first premiered.

Not a lot of talking.

After running from enemies, Sokka and Toph are basically near death, and he throws away all his weapons just so they don't die, but - children's show, Suki comes back and they land on another airship.

Ozai breaks through Aang’s barrier, and that turns out to be his biggest mistake.

What does this button do?

YEAH WHAT’S GOOD, BITCH.

“WHY ARE YOU RUNNING?! ”

Meanwhile…

She's lost it.

Yeah that’s about it for that bit. Zuko lives, by the way.

Back to Aang:

After a long and terrifying fight, Aang still doesn’t kill the man.

But he can Energybend him. Which has the old standby of “Either you’re unbendable, or you’re dead meat.”

This entire sequence is mad cool.

Rise up, young boy, and make yourself a legend.

No more bending for Ozai!

Aang quenches the fires around their battlesite and reunites with some of his friends.

Back at the Fire Nation Capital;

I love them and you can’t change my mind.

Word of God says that, besides Katara, Zuko ended up Aang's closest friend.

Zuko is going to be the Fire Lord, but not before he lets Aang get his props for, saving the world and all, and says they’ll rebuild it and the war is over.

“Oh thank God I don’t have to coronate a maniac.”

There’s a bit where Zuko goes to see Ozai in prison and demands he tell him where Ursa is but you have to read THE SEARCH for that.

Can I appreciate how quickly they integrated Mai into the group? I love it.

Meanwhile, everyone is chilling out in Iroh’s Tea Shop, Fire Lord included.

That happened!

And that’s Avatar: The Last Airbender, the greatest show Nickelodeon has ever produced, and its following attempts have...,well, they’re not this epic. They’re good but not like this.

It’s a tighter plot than I remember with a surprising amount of leniency and amazing characters.

I just spent the past seven or so months outlining everything about the series, I”m not necessarily going to recap it again.

So, what’s next? I could read the books, which have a firmer more political basis than the show did, but I couldn't scan the images because I simply can't buy the books. There are scans online but at that rate you could just read it yourself.

Don't be shy, but don't be a dick either.

8 A Quiet Place Day One

It's carried by Lupita, because the narrative doesn't have the strongest punch to really get across its themes.
