Hey, finally something not grim as shit.
It's an Alternate Universe of the original Pokemon Anime.
What region does this take place in? It's heavily hinted to be Johto because Entei and Ho-Oh are prominently featured.
There's not really much of a plot (Maybe it's "Find Ho-Oh and...?") because everyone is hypercompetent at battling...except when it comes to type matchups. Ash literally fights an Inceneroar with a Charmeleon and wonders why the fuck he can't beat it.
