Disney Dates 63 (!) Movies From NOW to 2027

Between this Friday ("Tolkien") and 2027, Disney is releasing not 1, not 2, but 63 movies after its recent acquisition of 20th Century Fox.

There's nothing to say about UNTITLED MARVEL MOVIE besides "It's probably sequels to Panther, Strange, Guardians, Ant-Man, Captain Marvel, and whatever else I'm missing.", but there is about some new developments.

AD ASTRA IS NOT DEAD.

Initially due for release...in about 2 weeks, "Ad Astra" was mercifully pushed back to September, for both a award season run and to have a completed film.

THIS LAND (PANDORA AND GALAXY'S EDGE) IS YOUR LAND

I know people out there are feeling some "Star Wars" fatigue. I understand while not feeling the same way. They think a 3-year break is too small until this new trilogy. We still aren't 100% sure whose trilogy it is - The "Game Of Thrones" guys or Rian Johnson ("The Last Jedi"). A few sources suggest that Johnson's trilogy is done-zo.

Then new releases will be interspersed with "Avatar" sequels, after 13 long years. Allegedly. Neither of these bother me too much.

OLD MUTANTS

If I had worked on "New Mutants"...well, I'd be indifferent. Below the line people have already been paid, and if they're brought back for the reshoots, more money. But this movie is going to come out almost 2 years since its original release date. The longer we wait, the less I fear it will be worth it.

At least it's on my radar now. Before, it was just the latest ill-attempt to deal with the Mutants. Now? I'm a sucker for superhero movies with troubled productions.

UNTITLED DISNEY ANIMATION ON 11/25/20

After "Frozen 2", there is no word on the next movie from WDAS ("Onward" is Pixar).

I wonder if that's "The Mitchells Vs. The Machines" wait, that's actually a Sony Pictures Animation movie. Unless Disney has transferred all of Blue Sky's projects or rights to in house - unlikely - this seems fairly late to not know what it is. We knew what "Moana" was a year and a half before.

GONE GAMBIT GONE

The long-gestating "Gambit" film has finally been put to rest.

WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME?

Finally, and most disappointingly, "Artemis Fowl" has been pushed back from August 9th 2019, to May 29th 2020.

Internet rumors are quick to jump to "No faith" in the project, but the other side says that there were still major aspects to complete. A three-month turnaround wouldn't be enough time.

I still strongly believe it will be at least passable, even if not faithful.

Don't be shy, but don't be a dick either.

8 A Quiet Place Day One

It's carried by Lupita, because the narrative doesn't have the strongest punch to really get across its themes.
