She Ra and the Princesses of Power Season 2

Because I didn't want this month to pass by without seeing something.

Obviously, spoilers.

And there are only 7 episodes, even though the show is sanctioned for a 53 episode series on Netflix. Time for them to cut it up and half release it for 4 years until people hate every part of it.

Looking at you, "Voltron".

Anyway, all the princesses are here. Perfuma is Perfuma, Mermista is Mermista, and Frosta is less aloof and more annoying because of her lack of social skills.

In a more 'realistic' setting, Frosta acts like Toph really should have. But Toph is better. No shade, it's hard to live up to an icon like that.

E1 - Basically "Man, this tech is good. Who's making it? Entrapta? We thought she was dead!"

E2 - Adora and Swift Wind have to fix Light Hope by repairing a 'mainframe' in a field that Mara, the previous She-Ra, destroyed.

Adora has put pressure on herself to be better than Mara - not difficult. Swift Wind is happy to just hang around. The styles are different but they learn to work together because of course.

The B-Plot is way more interesting. Bow and Glimmer capture Catra. She annoys the piss out of them and it's hilarious. They catch up to the viewer and learn that Entrapta is alive and is willingly working for the Horde.

My favorite part is how she's not angry toward them at all when last she saw them, Entrapta was under the impression that they left her to die.

E3 - Entrapta meets Hordak; Catra is getting the same scorn that Shadow Weaver got. Magic Trio find a First Ones hologram on repeat.

E4 - There's a DND strategizing match. There's a tiny Bow!

Also Glimmer imagines this as some kind of Viewtiful Joe - Space Dandy thing and it's kind of awesome and I wish She-Ra had this art style.

That's a problem I feel a lot of modern cartoons have - The art style is not strong enough to really convey the depth of the message.

This, however, is amazing.

Adora's very determined and takes her job incredibly seriously. Again.

E5 - Horde vs. Rebellion in the snow.

E6 - WHOA this episode is called Light Spinner, and I thought "Well, ok that means nothing to me." until Shadow Weaver's voice came out of this ordinary, nice looking spellcaster. A flashback!

She keeps calling the apprentice Michah and if I remember reading TV Tropes correctly...that was Angella's husband, Glimmer's father, and Castaspella's brother.

Wow, way to get all Fullmetal Alchemist on us. I want to say "Including the bits with Catra and Shadow Weaver in the present day." but I never did finish FMA.

E7 - Shadow Weaver is free, recently re-powered, and after Adora.

BUT FIRST WE MEET BOW'S FATHERS WHO RUN A LIBRARY. AND ARE FLESHED OUT PEOPLE AND ARE HILARIOUS.

And the episode is one large allegory for coming out. But hey, Shadow Weaver is loose too.

Catra is also being suffocated.

And that's She-Ra: Princesses of Power Season 2!

Don't be shy, but don't be a dick either.

8 A Quiet Place Day One

It's carried by Lupita, because the narrative doesn't have the strongest punch to really get across its themes.
